Okay, Baby M2. You Clearly Need A Room Of Your Own.

I'm so thankful to have Pinterest while planning M2's nursery. Just like I wished I would have had it while planning my wedding four and a half years ago and C's nursery two years ago.

Better late than never, right?

I've been posting a few hints to Twitter here and there, offering up subtle sneaks at the whole shebang and figured, "ah, what the heck. I might as well throw it all together in a post." So, Loyals? Here's the sneak into planning M2's nursh.

As you can see, there is no "theme" to this room which is pretty much all that I'm going for. I'm planning to use a variety of textures as well as bright colors, specifically blues and greens with pops of orange and grey, to decorate the room.

The crib will be C's current Espresso crib. The wall color? Behr's Porpoise. Throw in a shag rug, the above bedding and curtain panels from Carousel Designs and I'd say we've got ourselves a pretty good place to start, no?

Thankfully, there isn't a whole lot to do for M2's nursh. Aside from the major things like clear out the current jumbled office space, completely revamp the closet, install the chair rail on one wall and re-paint the entire room. But I mean, other than that? I'd say it's coming along swimmingly.

As in, I haven't done anything else other than order fabric swatches and create this inspiration collage.

Good thing I'm only 18 weeks pregnant and have a few months to go. Oh and did I mention I'm also planning C's Big Boy room at the same time? Because clearly, I love a good challenge.

And the Husband wants to talk about a No-Spend month coming up. Oh, boy. Is that even possible when planning two rooms and having a baby? I'm going to go with... negative, ghost rider.

Happy Thursday, Loyals!

  1. seriously? a no spend month? my husband proposes these all the time.
Perhaps we don't eat for a month? that costs money?
When husband paid the target bill last month he drew an uphappy face on the envelope and left me a little note "put the card away."
    Hmmmm...
these no spend months? does this include the husband not going out to lunch every day???????

I'm not ranting..just joking at the proposed "no spend month" that seems to be aimed at the ladies all the time.... :-)

    Happy Thursday!

  4. These 2nd pregnancies are flying by. I'm still only 22 weeks but when I say I only 18 weeks left...I kind of freak out a little about how much I have yet to do...like EVERYTHING! This poor child will have nothing.

  9. Love it. The greens and oranges are my favorite right now. They were the inspiration behind my family room renovation this summer.

Can't wait to see your ideas for C.

No spend month? What's that? Between finally finishing our master and getting Mia's finishing touches done, it may be a while.

And then I'm starting on the organization/get your crap off the island station in our kitchen.

That's ok though, I just keep feeding the Hubs beer to keep him happy :)

  10. After our Italy trip we're supposed to be in a no spend month other than food, I don't like it. Luckily it ends this weekend when I go buy an iphone!
LOVE this nursery! The colors are great and it's very modern and fresh.

  11. I'm having so much fun planning Elliot and baby boy #2's shared nursery. Granted, the new baby won't be in there anytime soon but... still! I don't know what I would do without pinterest.
I love the colors and patterns, lovely.

  13. It's official, I'm obsessed with that bedding!! I was just thinking the other day if/when we have Baby 2 and if its a boy I'd want to do green and blue. So cute, can't wait to see it come together!

And a no spend month? Husbands are just crazy.

  14. LOVE LOVE LOVE that bedding and those colors. Baby M2 is going to have a kick-ass room. Our baby #2 may just get shoved in the guest room with a pack n' play!!

    Good luck! :)

  16. Love the colors. Baby C #2 will have the same nursery bedding and furniture that E has ... so my focus is on thinking about her big girl room. I can't wait to see how M2s nursery comes together.

  17. Cute stuff!

This may be a totally annoying husband-esque question, but why not re-use Carter's crib bedding? I feel like the babies outgrow it so fast (though I know decorating is half the pleasure)! I know it's a super practical and annoying question but just curious! You never know, maybe I could then use your justification for myself someday!

  18. I am loving this! Is the "Nathan" a hint, too? ;)

  19. Fabulous - which I totally expected :) I'm interested in C's Big Boy Room, too...Kitty won't get hers until we move - which probs won't be until after her 2nd birthday.

  20. Love it! I bought gender neutral bedding so when it's time for #2 it would work. Fat chance. By the time we have another I'm sure I'll be dying to re-do a nursery!

PS Is Nathan a subtle hint to Baby M2's name?? It was on our short list last time, but the hubs nixed it. Don't think I won't put it back on the table if we ever have another boy!
