I Met My First Blog Friend...And Lived To Tell About It!

Well, I'm obviously kidding about that last part. Of course I was going to live through it. I mean, it wasn't like Quinn was going to kidnap me and leave Sheepie, C and Husband to fend for themselves. And even if she did? I figured, "heck, I could take her!"

Although Quinn is new to blogging, I just knew we'd be fast friends. Sure, she stalked my blog for a while before introducing herself and starting one of her own, but she curses (a lot), drinks beers (a lot), is the Mama to a beautiful baby girl and hates to cook just about as much as I do. Match made in heaven, no?

When tweeting back and forth about our vacation plans, we suddenly realized we were beaching it no less than 15 minutes from each other. Folks, this is where Bloggers get really excited at the prospect of meeting someone they've only read about every day for the last however many days weeks months years.

Nap schedules were juggled and a mom-date was set. Maybe now I should let you all know that I had total first-date butterflies. I mean, you all don't know this about me, but I'm not really this funny in real life. What if she thinks I'm crazy? Well, at least I'll have C with me to deflect any awkwardness.

It may have taken the babies a second or two to warm up to each other but the minute Quinn and I met, it was like picking up with a regular ol' super awesome girlfriend. We squealed a bit, we hugged, we laughed. I mean, it was only a matter of minutes before she was sitting on the beach with my husband, brother and sister-in-law and I, drinking beers and dropping the f-bomb.

Oh and the babies? They hit it off, too. Quinn and I are arranging their marriage as I type this.

Quinn, thanks for popping my proverbial Blog-Turned-Real-Life-Friends cherry. Don't worry, I'm already planning my next trip to Philadephia!

Loyals, if you're looking for a new read, head on over and puh-lease check her out. I promise, you won't be sorry! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an arranged marriage to plan.

Happy Friday!

  9. So fun! I have never met a blogger in real life - I think I'd be nervous. I did meet a girl from planning weddings on The Knot, and she's great, so I know internet friendships can work - ha! It's like online dating but better.
